My farewell morning tea

It was a great morning tea, with a very witty speech by my Associate Director , Anne Wilson, all in good humour about my work here.
"Thank you for leading the LILL team and for increasing the Team’s profile amongst the academic staff

Thank you for creating an image gallery of the entire library staff

Thank you for mentoring the newer and younger LILLs

Thank you for providing an active social life for the unattached ladies in the team

Thank you for challenging my management skills

Thank you for surfing the net on my behalf and providing me with lots of interesting reading

Thank you for taking on the role of law liaison at such short notice and running with it

Thank you for making sure the printers didn’t get rusty from lack of use

Thank you for Google Scholar

Thank for your contribution to the continued deforestation of the Amazon rainforest

Thank you for all the work you’ve done in Health

Thank you from all of us

Stephen Barnett a man with “big shirts and a big heart.”

Annes speech
Annes speech
My farewell
I was presented with two very nice suitcases, useful for my trek down to Wodonga.
My farewell
My own words include these quotes about leaving...
"Don't be dismayed by good-byes. A farewell is necessary before you can meet again. And meeting again, after moments or lifetimes, is certain for those who are friends." Richard Bach
"Be well, do good work, and keep in touch." Garrison Keillor
"All changes are more or less tinged with melancholy, for what we are leaving behind is part of ourselves." Amelia Barr
"If there is anyone here whom I have not insulted, I beg his pardon" [on leaving some friends] Johannes Brahms

I will also be having drinks on the balcony on Friday night

Hi Stephen,

At Gilles Plains we appreciated the " no chance for printers to get rusty" comment.

While cleaning out a filing cabinet last month we found yet another 5 kilos of your leftover paperwork! Are there any other places you might have put stuff that we haven't stumbled across yet?

Good luck in your new position. Looking forward to photos from there.

I will miss your Darwin colleagues - feel as if I know them via your blog.

Regards

Sue
