Vale Dorothy Florence Ethel Brown

Just over a month ago Dorothy, Pam's mother wished Hugh and I well as we set off to Darwin. Within two weeks she was found to have cancer and she passed away on Monday. Hugh and I flew down early on Friday for her funeral service.This was a celebration of her life and was nicely done.
It was held at Emmanuel Church Wayville.

As always, with the gathering of the clans at a funeral,
it was a chance to catch up




Our good friends Marty and Rachel joined us as well to support Pam.

Sunday evening at Mindil

Hugh has been working all weekend so we planned a trip to the Mindil Beach markets for a Sunday evening food and feast for our eyes and ears. It was as usual very busy and we both enjoy people watching. Hugh enjoys his Indian curries.


And a healthy fruit juice.


There are lots of musicians,young and old



Including one of my favorites, Rodger Bradshaw from the group, Jabaru and his wife Rene.

Lots of stallholders with various skills:



Many families have a picnic tea on the lawns.

We watched the sunset and listened to Jabaru.

Dusk at the Darwin Sailing Club

With Hugh busy and Peter away, Jayshree and I watched the sunset at the Darwin Sailing Club and dined while we chatted. Having dinner at the DSC is one of the great pleasures of life and Darwin as its a very relaxed atmosphere and so attractive a landscape.
There is usually a good mix of interstate and overseas visitors.




On Saturday night, Hugh and I watched with thousands of others, a F 111 do a "dump and burn" over Mindil Beach, which was pretty fantastic, followed by fireworks from near the Sky Casino. I captured only video of the dump and burn , but found this at Flickr. its a great shot of something similar last year! Also this guy has a good shot was well

Saturday evening at the Darwin Sailing Club

A return to the Darwin Sailing Club and Hugh met Jayshree and Peter for the first time.
We joined some of the sailing fraternity including Julie and Ross.

Work to be done!

Hugh will work on getting his monster ute looking good as funds allow.

A room for guests.

Finally got the guest room set up and we now have room for visitors from down south.

ALIA Top End Garden Party July 2007

A pleasant evening at the ALIA Top End Garden Party which was held in the Chinese Gardens at Charles Darwin University with a really good attendance from the library and information sector of Darwin.
Great networking opportunity and nice nibbles and drinks as the sunset.
