This is what the Green Ant nest looks like when nearly completed.
This nest is just about finished being constructed. Having researched its construction, it appears the the green tree ant (Oecophylla smarigdina)glues together individual leaves with silk produced by their larvae. I must be careful not to get my hair full of angry Green Ants when going through the gate!
Green ants nest building in my unit garden
Came across this activity at my garden gate, I must remember to duck!
