Sunday chores

I spent the morning ironing etc, then a trip out to my storage unit. I noticed this fairly spectacular cloud formation. In a few weeks time they may be more spectacular during the buildup but not a lot of rain..

Then it was the usual trip to Mindil Beach.I found an interesting article about the history of the area the other day, see this schoolboy article link from 1999.

Mark Hoffman aka Mark Didge or eMDee always pulls a large crowd. You can learn more about his work on his website and even hear/get a free download of a remix track

Web of Science visit

GeeHo Liu, a sales representative from Thomson came today and ran a session for staff on using the Web Of Science database and she organised a fantastic cake for afternoon tea.
I showed her quickly around Darwin afterwards, including a brief visit to Mindil Beach and then the Darwin Sailing Club for dinner.

Darwin Ski Club dinner

For a change of location I joined Peter and Jayshree tonight at the Darwin Ski Club for my evening meal. It's laid back, pleasant and cheaper to join as a member than the Darwin Sailing club and the Trailer Boat Club and the food prices are not too bad.

Garden visitors

While we enjoy the pool after work, the locals keep us company.
This lizard, a Gilbert Dragon (Lophognathus gilberti) I think. The locals call them Ta=Ta's
